About Us

The Kern River Valley Firearms Academy was developed with the needs of new and novice shooters in mind to provide a safe, comfortable environment to:
1. Help you overcome fear of firearms.
2. Teach you to safely shoot and operate a variety of different types of firearms.
3. Help you decide which type of firearm is right for you.
4. Develop or improve your shooting skills.

Current Instruction Offered

Handgun 

Individual instruction for new shooters or shooters wanting to improve their skills. Instruction covers safe handling and functionality of single action revolvers, double action revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.

Individual instruction for new shooters or shooters wanting to improve their skills. Instruction covers safe handling and functionality of bolt action, lever action and semi-automatic rifles.

Individual instruction for new shooters or shooters wanting to improve their skills. Instruction covers safe handling and functionality of pump action, hinge action (Over and Under or Side by Side) and semi-automatic shotguns.

Metallic Pistol Cartridge Reloading

Classroom instruction with hands on application providing students the fundamentals of reloading. This course is designed for shooters with little or no experience in reloading. You will gain the knowledge and skill to produce safe, consistent and accurate ammunition in some of today’s popular pistol calibers (i.e. .380, 9mm, .38/,357, .44Spc/.44Mag, .45 ACP. .45 Colt).

Classroom instruction with hands on application providing students the fundamentals of reloading. This course is designed for shooters with little or no experience in reloading. You will gain the knowledge and skill to produce safe, consistent and accurate ammunition in some of today’s popular rifle calibers (i.e. .223, .30-30, .308, .30-06).

Classroom instruction with hands on application providing students the fundamentals of reloading. This course is designed for shooters with little or no reloading experience. You will gain the knowledge and skill to produce safe and consistent shotgun shells (.410 bore, 12 or 20 Gauge ).
